5k Cargo Release

The 5K Automatic Cargo Parachute Release is fully automatic, requiring no personnel intervention. The Cargo Release incorporates a hydraulic arming delay which is actuated by load tension. This delay is long enough to prevent disconnect during the opening shock yet short enough to permit low altitude delivery. After the delay period, the Cargo Release is in the extended condition, ready for disconnect when the load comes to rest on land or water. After inspection and cleaning, the Cargo Release is ready for use again by inserting the Release Shackle and depressing the Jaws. When the Jaws are depressed
the Release Shackle will retract into the Release Body. Slight hand force or equivalent
mechanical force may be used to retract the Release Shackle into the Release Body.
