146 Cargo Release

The Automatic Cargo Parachute Release is load-relief actuated. It is constructed entirely of stainless steel for both durability and strength. The unit is completely sealed against moisture, dirt and sand, and is tamper resistant. It does not require any kind of adjustment, setting, or arming by the user. The Automatic Cargo Parachute Release is fully automatic, requiring no personnel intervention. The Cargo Release incorporates a hydraulic arming delay which is actuated by load tension. This delay is long enough to prevent disconnect during the opening shock yet short enough to permit low altitude delivery. After the delay period, the Cargo Release is in the extended condition, ready for disconnect when the load comes to rest on land or water.
